The wood supply to Caima is controlled in accordance with the requirements of the FSC® [1] and PEFC [2] Chain of Responsibility standards. Sustainable forest management practices are also promoted among its suppliers. The preservation of biodiversity, especially in areas of ecological significance, is a priority for the Altri Group.
In this regard, Altri maintains and has been reinforcing its activities to promote the restoration and conservation of biodiversity. It follows a management model based on value-added principles, engages directly with the community and local authorities, raises awareness among all stakeholders, including its employees, to adhere to the principles of biodiversity conservation. Altri conducts campaigns to promote awareness of biodiversity values and maintains a sourcing policy that eliminates or avoids the acquisition of wood from sources that violate FSC® or PEFC rules, particularly regarding illegal logging that disregards biodiversity value or originates from regions where civil rights are violated.
